The need for anti-DDOS protection
In order to understand the necessity of anti-DDOS protection, you need to be educated about two things. Firstly, you need to know what a DDOS attack is, and secondly, you need to know how it affects your business.
In this regard, you should know that a DDOS attack consists of the hacker sending a high number of requests to your web server. As the latter only has a limited capacity to handle requests simultaneously, this leads to :
- a clogging of your bandwidth ;
- a weakening of your system's capacities. As a result, you end up with a website, platform, mail server or application down until you fix the problem. And as a result of this attack, we can note :
- a momentary or complete blockage of your activities ;
- an increase in the cost of bandwidth usage due to overuse;
- damage to your company's reputation - the cost of dealing with the problem;
- etc.
In view of all this, you will surely realise the negative impact that a DDOS attack can have on your company, and the need to protect yourself against it.
Taking out a DDOS protection is therefore the solution to avoid this kind of disruption. It does this in two stages. Firstly, it instantly and continuously scans all requests that are circulating on the IP network. Then, when you are targeted, it prevents non-legitimate data from accessing your personal network. As a result, only legitimate requests will get through and your business will run without any disruption.
